A fully custom FFF (Fused Filament Fabrication) 3D printer that bypasses expensive filament spools and prints directly from raw plastic pellets — the same feedstock used in industrial injection moulding.
The core challenge is building a reliable screw-drive extruder that maintains consistent melt pressure and flow rate — something commercial pellet extruders solve with proprietary hardware. I am aiming to build it with off-the-shelf stepper motors, custom machined barrels, and open firmware.
The goal is to use the lower cost of raw material to finally transform Automobile, Space and Construction Industries and make higher quality materials like Carbon Fiber more accessible to the general public.
Later, I will aim to add photorealistic full colour support to the printer.
